Join Women On the Bridge this March 8th

Women for Women International is calling for women and men, wherever you are, to add your voice for peace at an event or to organise your own. Whether there’s three of you or 300, every person standing on a bridge on International Women’s Day is helping to shape the future - of a more peaceful and equal world.

We are calling for all countries that are re-building in the aftermath of war to have an equal number of women as men at the peace negotiation and parliamentary tables. With no women there is no peace. In Afghanistan, there were originally no women on the High Peace Council, responsible for negotiating an end to the war. Following international pressure, there are now seven women out of 70 representatives - but this is not enough and Women for Women International is demanding full equality.
