Overview: This free e-learning tool is available online or can be downloaded (English only) and provides information on topics to prevent infections in low-resource settings. In addition to provding information, the module has quizzes to test knowledge and examples of issues through case studies. Educational aids are also available that can be posted in key locations at facilities to ensure that staff is aware of procedures for ensuring sterile environments to prevent infections.

Overview: Ipas University offers free online courses (registration required) in topics relating to maternal health. Currently, only clinical courses are available, but plans exist to expand to other topics. The courses begin with a pretest and offer detailed information through slides, as well as case studies and links to relevant outside sources. Each course ends with final test so users can evaluate their progress. The courses are only available through Internet Explorer.
Examples of topics covered: first-trimester abortion with mifepristone and misoprostol; uterine evacuation with medicines; managing fever and pain after abortion; stocking facilities.
Malaria in Pregnancy

Overview: This hour long presentation with slides and audio contains detailed information on the impact of malaria on pregnancy. It provides an overview of why the topic is important, various interventions including intermittent preventative treatment and insecticide treated nets, and drug efficacy.

Overview: The Global Health eLearning Center offers free online courses (registration required) in a variety of topics relating to maternal health and offers certificates in Family Planning and Reproductive Health and Maternal Health. Courses generally begin with a pretest, provide detailed information and finish with a pretest, allowing users to monitor their progress. Each course can be completed in approximately 1 hour.
Examples of topics covered: antenatal care; malaria in pregnancy; postpartum care; mother-to-child transmission of HIV; IUDs; logistics for health commodities
