François Hollande, France's new socialist president, has revealed a government which for the first time features an equal number of women and men, and includes figures who reflect the country's ethnic diversity.
Appointing Najat Vallaud-Belkacem as minister for women's right, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem was born in Morocco in October 4th, 1977) she's a French politician of the Socialist General Council. She was advisor to Ségolène Royal's campaign during the 2007 French General Election. Since 2008 she has been sixth deputy Mayor of Lyon, responsible for major events, youth and community life.

Biography
Dati was born to a Moroccan father, a bricklayer named Mbarek, and an Algerian mother, named Fatima-Zohra. Rachida Dati is the second child of a family of 12. She spent her childhood in Chalon-sur-Saône in Bourgogne.
After attending Catholic school, she began work at 16 as a paramedical assistant. She then worked for three years as an accountant at Elf Aquitaine while continuing her studies in economics and business management.
After meeting Jean-Luc Lagardère in 1990, she entered the audit management team of Matra Nortel communication. She later spent a year in London at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in the records management and archiving department.

Mbarka Bouaida is a Moroccan parliamentarian and Chair of the parliament’s Committee of Foreign Affairs, National Defense and Religious Affairs. She contested under the women’s quota in 2007 and became the youngest member of parliament representing the Commune of Anfa in Casablanca. Now, after being elected for a second term outside the umbrella of the women’s quota, she represents Morocco in the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly. WLP interviewed Ms. Bouaida after she spoke about women’s political participation in Morocco at the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C.

Biography
Fatima Zahra Mansouri (b. in 1976), was trained as a lawyer. She was elected to become Mayor of the town of Marrakech in Morocco on 23 June 2009. Prior to that she had been municipal counsellor in the Aunthenticity and Modern Party (PAM).
The election of a female mayor for the town is a first for Marrakech.
